I've never had luck with one of those little things; I hope you got a good one. What finally worked for me after all these years was in-the-ear hearing aids and iLuv brand headphones. They're noise cancelling and the earphone pieces are cupped, so they fit over my ears. I think they would have worked with behind-the-ear aids, too, but this was how the timing worked out for me.
