The worst day ever, until next season

I loved last night's 24. It was one of the best - along with the brother torturing episode. Speaking of which, what happened to Jack's ex-girlfriend/sister in law? Oh, right. who cares? Audrey is alive...

(By the way, I won't point out that there are only 6 hours left in this day. You can't fly from California to China in six hours, I don't care if you are Jack Bauer.)

I can't do better than these hilarious observations:

Au contraire, dear wife - the Chinese guy (unstereotypically named "Chang", if I'm not mistaken)is not IN China - remember? He flew in to LA to drop Jack Bauer off to save the world, and I guess he decided to stick around. Maybe hit the beach, take the Universal Studios tour. I'm guessing he brought Audrey with him purposely in that cargo plane to use as a carrot to get Jack to do his bidding.

Thanks for the update Joan! I think a 10/10 on the Absurdomenter would be the Prez signing off on Jack's plan, which if unsuccessful, will have dramatic national consequences. I know that jack is pretty infallible, but if he isn't able to activate the explosive, in time to destroy the board, it could mean trouble.

Anwyay..I enjoyed the show. Although i wished Audrey would have told Jack that he shouldn't do what they ask! She was alot tougher last year!! And will Audrey's father come to save the day?!!!

YES, Eric - good one!

"Mr. President, I'd like to put the world in danger of a global thermonuclear showdown to save my girlfriend."

"No, Jack - I can't do that"

"You owe me!"

"Well, OK, then I guess it's OK for you to put the world in danger of a global thermonuclear showdown. Be careful, now!"

Ok - I knew there was going to be a way to ensure this all happened in LA (which is apparently the most unsafe city in the world). I forgot Chang was there to drop off Jackie.

And Eric, you're totally right. Audrey has softened. She should go on The Bachelor for some boot camp. As for Wayne Palmer - he is just showing that he's "the decider." Who cares what the consequences are?

Oh. And TGV - when are you coming home to cook me dinner?

EXACTLY!! Maybe the Prez. was already feeling the effects of his brain hemmoraghing (sp?)(sorry to be talking about brains Joan!) when he agreed with Jack's plan. I almost had to agree with the creepy Veep on this one!

And for ONCE I would like to see a file NOT upload JUST in time....

Yeah TGV!! What time is dinner!!! Is 7:30 okay??

Jack: "Can you download the plans for the sewage system throughout the entire city to my cellphone please?"

Chloe: "Yes. That will take approximately 6 seconds."

Uh-huh. In my experience, city beaurocracy is very efficient on matters such as these. And I can't even get a cell phone signal in my mother's entire house, yet Jack always seems to have full bars.

Yes, but this is CTU we are talking about! They are super-sophisticated, have the best technological available, and hire only the best and the brightest.

Unfortunately, despite their amazing success in some areas, they cannot seem to stop CTU Headquarters from being infiltrated on a yearly basis, or stop double "rogue" agents from getting jobs at CTU. Maybe they need to work on their interviewing skills...

And shouldn't get Jack get a PDA or something with a LARGER screen?? Must be tough reading a schematic off a cell phone.

Of course he was in a Chinese Prison for 2 years so he might not be up to speed with the latest technology.

Eric, you raise many good points yet side-step the most important one. When will TGV be home to cook us dinner??!?!

TGV said...

I'm leaving shortly to come home and cook your dinner. Eric, we're having pork tenderloin, so bring a bottle of white.

Unknown said...

Excellent! I'll call Iris to put a couple of bottles on ice!! Oh, and if it is no trouble, Mac and Cheese for Eliana would be great!

Can I bring the mice too??

On a more serious and important note....Can you drink yet Joan?? And if not, when?!

JAV said...

Absolutely have been taking part in some fermented grape juice. Have found that I can't take the red varietals yet - brings on a headache. But white in moderation is just what the doctor ordered.

Sorry about the mice - today's board emails are scary! No signs of pests over here on the North side (yet).

So??? How was dinner?!

JAV said...

Awesome. Pork tenderloin with an herbes de provence rub. Wild rice. Greens. Brownies for dessert.

How lucky am I? This is normal fare in the Voltz HH. TGV is superhuman.

Unknown said...

Sounds awesome! Please tell me he didn't MAKE the brownies himself?!

TGV=Jack Bauer??

JAV said...

No he didn't make the brownies himself. But still, could he be Jack Bauer? Hmm. He does have a man purse satchel.

TGV looks just like a young Kiefer!!! (Is that advertising copy he is reading?!)

I most often get James Spader. Or, if you can believe it, Paul McCartney. With an occasional Bill Clinton thrown in (don't see that one at all).

Couldn't open that website. If you find a good Kiefer picture, download it to my PDA.
